Hunted Projects is pleased to announce Cosmic Country Noir, an exhibition featuring new paintings by Christopher Orr (b.1967). This exhibition inaugurates Hunted Projects new gallery space and celebrates Orr’s first solo exhibition with the gallery.

Christopher Orr's consistent artistic output features intimate and emotionally evocative paintings that reveal an ethereal, dreamlike universe. His works incorporate found imagery and figures in bathing suits, placing them in an undefined time period. These partly naked figures are set against a backdrop of nature that is ever-present, often abstract, undefined, and surreal. Dramatic, intense, and garish colours highlight the tension between silence and vibrant affirmation. Orr’s figures, often seen from behind, seem to witness unseen events, inviting viewers to explore beyond initial appearances. His oil on linen works question the nature of painting itself, blending influences from Turner, Hopper, Fragonard, and Watteau while maintaining a unique style that provokes commentary and reveals human existence amid abstract, undefined spaces.
